Wotton Helps HaitiOn Saturday, January 30th 2010, many people from the community in and around Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire, UK came together to learn and record a brand new song. The song had been written specially for the occasion by local musician Katie Elliott, who wanted to help raise money for and awareness of those suffering in the aftermath of the Haitian earthquake.
Thanks to the fantastic work of event organiser Stuart Bexon, recording engineer Martin Harvey, a team of multi-talented volunteers and singers of all ages, the song was recorded and approximately £250 was raised on the day.
People who heard the song liked it and were pleased with how it sounded. They thought that perhaps others anywhere and everywhere in the world might like to hear it, and if they did, might be inspired to make a donation to the people of Haiti, via the Disasters Emergency Committee. So they decided to offer it here as a free download.
If you like it, please go ahead and download it. More importantly, help us spread the word by telling your friends and family. Maybe they'd like a copy too, and perhaps it might inspire them to make a donation. Giving is easy - we have a page at www.justgiving.com/wottonhelpshaiti |
(To save a copy of the file, rather than open it in your mp3 player, right-click the above link and select 'Save Link As...', or your browser's equivalent.)
Hope Carries On If you've enjoyed listening to this recording, please consider making a donation. All the money goes the the Haiti earthquake appeal. Here's how we're doing:
